Ok, I am looking at buying a used quad from a dealer, but he said that it had some "mild rust damage" I was just wandering if there are ways to get rid of rust and if there isn't will it hurt the frame bad enough to make it bend or break? Thanks

I've been down that road before with the dealer saying it had quote "mild rust damage" endquote.
I bought an '89 KX80 big wheel awhile back and it had "mild rust" on the sub frame. After I bought it I went to go off a jump and when I landed I heard a scratching sound. I looked the bike all over and come to find out the part of the sub frame that was "mildly rusted" cracked through.
My advise is don't do it.

Well, I am still going to go look at it. I guess I will just have too decide how bad the rust is. But again, can you sandblast or sand the rust off if it is there?

Yes you can sand blast it but it will take forever. Bring a sharp scratch all and see if you can poke any holes in it if you can in any spot don,t buy it email me if you need to i build them at polaris and can tell you more about them. The material is rather thick so if it is not bad consider it.

You have to spray a special "paint". In france there was one called "Frameto", don't know in the US. It stops rust from going on, and protects the uninfected steel. Sandblasting is no use (it just looks better until it starts all over again). It's just more trouble, and risky. Watch out.
