tightening hub

Default tightening hub

I recently had to replace a rear hub on my 2000 polaris magnum 325. i got the new hub and im ready to put it on but im not sure how tight to do it. i dont have a torque rench either if thats needed, thanks

My rear hub nut needs 80 ft/lbs on a 2005 MV7. I would imagine you would need about that also since the axles are probably the same. You definitely should get a torque wrench and also a manual. There are lots of the nuts and bolts that have to be torqued properly. If you over tighten a bolt it becomes brittle and could break, too loose and you can guess. Look on Ebay for a used manual for your bike. Woody

I have a 330 Trailboss with a SRA and it takes 80 ft lb's. If you are going to do your own maintenance and mechanic work you will definetly need a shop manual and tourque wrench that goes up to 200 ft lb's. You may also want to get a 3/8" drive that does inch lb's. Some of the nuts and bolts on mine take less than 10 ft lb's (120 in lb's), it is much easier to do these with a smaller wrench that reads inch punds.

ok im done and i fixed it!!! i am guna be going to the local polaris tommorow and getting the manuals, thanks for the help!
