Getting Shocked Thru Grips On 2005 SP 400's
#1
Both mine and my wife's are doing this.
No electrical systems mods.
My wife's has the "Polaris" Warn winch and mine has the Gorilla. I installed them both.
Mine started doing it before the install and hers never did it till last weekend.
Weird thing is, both have never done it anywhere but the desert north of Reno.
Any ideas?

Described "shocked". Normally a human can't feel a 12 volt DC potential, which is all you're getting from the battery. The only place I can think of that has higher potential is the ignition system.

Weird. 12 volts DC isn't enough to shock someone. To test, try touching both posts on your battery with your fingers - you won't feel any current (usually, unless you have an open wound or your hands are covered in salt water or something).
Besides that, nothing you are touching should be "live". Rubber grips, right? Or is this when you touch the handlebars directly?
And it comes and goes with your **location**?!? As in, geography affects it?
