The weight on the 500 comes partly from going to steel wheels. My 99 has alumium. I am not sure about the TB.

Power needs some definition. A 2-storke will make more horsepower per cc then a 4-stroke. But a 4-stroke will make more torque. They are both a measure of "power". So it wasn't an entirely inaccurate statement.

The sad thing is, they made a sale on that premise. The dealer sells both Kawisaki and Hondas, and sold a Honda Foreman 400 or 425 (I can't remember which) to my brother's dad-in-law for that reason. He considered a Polaris 400, but was unsure of the 2 cycle. To make a long story short, he got the Honda partly because the salesman told him the 4 cycle will out pull the 2 cycle. To really add to the fire, he was also told that the power of the Foreman would be enough greater than my brother's 400 Xpress, so that even being a 4x4, it would likely outrun it, in acceleration at least if not top speed.
Needless to say, after breaking in his Foreman, he found out just how wrong the salesman was. He called to complain to him, but the dealer he worked for said he was no longer employed with them.
I have nothing against a Honda (heck, I own one), but I despise false advertising.
At least he got a good, solid machine, if not a fast, zippy one.
