Default TB250 reliabilty

1)does the trailblazer 250 have good reliability, does it break down a lot?
2)Do you have to rebuild the engine once a year?
3) if you mod it to 35hp, (there are plenty of sites that show what to do to get that high) does it become unreliable and break down alot?
4) is it worth it to upgrade from and 06 ds250 to a tb250 w/ 35hp? or should i go for a ds450, or trx450r when it gets efi in 2008?

A piped, clutched and ported 250 Trailblazer will out do the 300-350s and hang close to the 400s.
You dont need to drop all that much to get decent power. They are decently reliable if maintaned and my sons last one had the topend last 3 years. We sold it to my buddy to get the boy a 350 Warrior and the TB will beat the Warrior.

That TB 250 engine is one of the best little two strokes ever made. It is very reliable and it does not cost much to rebuild even if you have to go through the whole thing.

I have abused mine TB motor is was raced stock over reved little matance then modded an put new piston just because I add the porting I raced it for 3years on stock motor an trail beat it to for an extra 2 before racing it. The motor has never blow up or even acted like it need a rebuild. Motor wise it has been the best motor I have had. It has the redcage conversion in it an have raced it for 2.5 years an have not touched an it has set now an not use for 1.5 year an it fire right up.

why did they discontinue the TB then? if it was so reliable, is it reliable for a 2 stroke, or does it have honda 4 stroke reliability, and does it shame others in reliability

i hate polaris do quitting the TB and other 2 strokes, and to make it worse the CEO set up a dumb duel

you can think your EPA for it if you have noticed they are do out with 2 strokes an they had to quit making them.

EPA, whats that stand for, is it an environmental group? Is that why the zilla and kx500 (2 stroke) were discontinued? or is it cuz they were too dangerous?

EPA: Enviromental Protection Agency

The zilla was a death machine to a novice rider. But it was one bad machine. If you notice how de-tuned ATv's are compared to dirt bikes, that is one reason why. The consumer protection group had effectively forced manufacturers out of the 3 wheeler business. Then along comes Suzuki, and they make something that they see as dangerous. So, to keep the production of 4 wheelers going, they manufacturers detune the motors in the 4 wheelers.

Of course, since most states have a speed limit of 70 mph, it's ok to make a car that goes 200 mph.

!@#@!$@#!$@#$ i hate those manufacturers, the reason i didnt get a 250ex (big mistake) was cuz its only 229cc and it didnt have good susp. Why dont they just take a crf250r engine and gearbox and exhaust and carb, you basicaly have a racer atv for hardcore kids or hardcore parents with kids. i wish my ds250 ran at 25hp or something like the 250 dirtbikes, instead of my crappy 17hp (well change the gearing up a bit, a parent doesnt want his 11 year old to fly past at 80mph on a 250ex)
