Why did you say an 99. on that other thread it says to use 01 or 02 trannys

I was under the impression that the '99 was the last year for the explorer with chain rear and shaft front drive. Maybe I was wrong.

I dont know where everyone finding these chain rear shaft front xplorers at they didnt make one they are chain front and back you can even look up on polaris website manuals

Old posts.. Explorer 400s from 95-98 were chain driven front and rear. The last year model 99 Explorer 400 had a chain rear drive and a front differential to the drive shafts instead of using a chain.Look at this link.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Pointless to lift kit a atv without IRS,
The only way to get more ground clearance on a SRA under the rear chain sprocket or rear diff which are the lowest points of the machine is to put on larger tires.
The easiest way to gear reduce a chain drive is to just change the tooth count of the sprockets. Larger back sprocket or smaller front sprocket.
