Default Tie down ?

POLTAB, the front winch will do the job, however another way takes four ratchet straps, find the frame under the foot wells and connect two on either side, in sissor like manner, front point pulling to the rear, back point pull to front, anchor points on side of trailer. this rigging works for me. however ask 10 folks get 10 different setup.

Default Tie down ?

Hello all. Just to clarify my method of tie-down. I have the winch spooled in tightly and use the hook to hold down the front with one or two straps in the rear either on the x-brace between the shocks or on the two tabs on the quads trailer hitch. I have an aluminum trailer where either side folds down and becomes a ramp. The quads don't move much, if at all. The frame is probably the best way to go, but after a day in the mud and water on our trails in New England, I aint a going they-a, no....

The winch brake will loosen up over time , do a trial, winch it down and measure how high the front bumper is from the trailer, let it sit overnight and see if it holds.

Saw a pickup miss a corner on a dirt road once, hit a pretty good bump, four wheeler in the back not tied down , went about thirty feet in the air and landed upside down on the ground.Wheeler really messed up, pickup not hurt. I will always tie mine down .

yea stuff like that happens pretty fast. down the high way a couch got sucked up out of the box and landed right on the road perfectly for cars to run into. throw at least one strap over everything unless its like 2 mins down the road. in the truck box not tied down it can go through the back window easy

I use the winch as a back up tie down and a ratchet tie down on the hook under the rad. I towed tonight for the first time and the rear ratchet hooks on the X2 and the front ratchet hooks on the Outlaw came off whie driving. I do not like the S hooks so I am going to add a locking hook or something. I have not figured it out yet...

I use the winch on mine to hold down the front. Haven't had any problems and been doing it for years. I haven't seen any issues with the winch loosening up during trailering.
