Default 02 Ignition problem

Help!! I have an 02 700 Sportsman. I had some issues with it not starting awhile back. Found a broken ground wire on the stator and fixed that. It has been running pretty good. Until about a month ago we ran in some mud drags. I was eliminated after my 4th run. Pulled back to the trailer, heard the fan running, it died and hasn't started since. Checked resistance to the stator, looked good, but still no spark. Went ahead and pulled the Flywheel off and the stator visually looks good. Any thoughts?? Help!!

p.s. The night before the last drags I couldn't get the thing started. No spark. Resistance to the stator looked good, searched the internet, put my head in my hands, yelled, even threw a couple things i think. Couldn't find anything wrong, then after staring at it for about 30 minute tried the key and it started.

Could be a couple things. Have you check all the electrical connection for moisture? What about your coil? Welcome to the forums

Think I have checked all connections. I checked everything to the stator and CDI. The one thing that concerns me is the CDI. I have no idea how to check that. Everything I have read said the only way to check a CDI is to replace it with a known good one and see how it works

I hate electrical problems. Are the Sportsmans known for electrical problems if you ride through water/mud?
