Default vision wheels on 450

H - I am new to forum and ATV's. I just got an 06 450 sportsman. I want to get Vision 160 rims to replace my stock steel wheels and use the stock tires. I have read that they will fot my quad but I am not convinced they willo fit the hubs. I just dont see how from the pictures of the wheels in relation to the large center of the stock steel wheels. Do I need to modify anything? Has onyone out these on thier 2006 sportsman?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

Why wouldn't the vision rims fit? They are manufactured for Polaris ATV's. I just bought a set of the 14" rims and they look really nice in real. I didn't put them on my fourwheeler yet because I have not gotten my tires in. The answer to your question is. Yes the rims will fit, and no you will not need to modify anything. Just a piece of advice make sure if your upgrading to a 14" rim that you take in to factor some new tires. If you are sticking with the stock 12" then your factory tires will fit just fine.

not sure about the vinson whhels but if you look at my wifes 450 w/ my 800 rims on it in my pictures, i had to buy and install the 800's studs as the 450's arent long enough to go thru the thicker alum rims. if this is the same case w/ the vinson rims "DO NOT" use the stock studs of the 450 as you will only have about 3 to 4 threads holdiong on the wheel and woukld be very dangous of stripping the threads and wheels falling off.

I think my dealer has gone stupid. I went today to my dealer to get the longer studs and he said that Polaris doesnt make 2 different size studs for sportsmans. Ok then why do I see 2 different sizes on the parts website. He wouldnt sell them to me. He said I have to go to Vision because studs are wheel specific and to call them, they will have them. I put the wheel on the quad and the lugnuts screw 5 revolutions on the studs (hand tightend) - not enough huh? Where can I get the longer studs if they are the only gig in town wont sell em to me? I think he either just doesnt know what hes talking about or he PO'd I didnt buy the wheels from him. The original nuts screw on 6 revoltution and the new lugnuts with the new wheels screw on 5 revolution (both only hand tightend) I am sure I would get another revlotion with a wrench. What do you suggest I do?

Thanks!

brute, he is my experince(not a guess) when i put my stock 800 rims on my wifes 450, yes you can get a few turns but its not enough. i helped another guy who was stripping the studs by torquing to the recommened specs.i think its 90 ft.lbs. look all you have to do is order the sportsman 800 06' studs winch are the same diam. and thread but about 1/4" longer and you'll have no problem. i think their $1.65 each. order 16 studs. the stock nuts are flat and wont work on a beveled rim lik the alum 800 rims. hope this clears this up for you.
