Default Reserve gas tank on sp 800 ?

Does anyone know if and where the reserve/ gas cut-off valve is located on the 800?? My buddy tells me he has never seen an atv that does not have one. But for the life of me, I can't find it. Anyone help, please??

It doesn't have one. It has a fuel pump and once the key is turned off the gas can't come out anyway. As far as the reserve goes, They figure that with a guage in front of you and a big LOW FUEL wrds flash in front of you on the display and it blinks on and off is enough.

The way I gauge it, when my fuel level gauge starts to show it's not full anymore, it means that there's not much left, and I don't tempt the hand of fate to see how far I can go on the tank. Once it comes off the full mark it empties pretty quickly. Going out with a full tank every time helps too.

Thanks for the help guys. everything you said makes sense to me. But, would anyone know what the gas mileage would be for the 800 and /or just how many miles cah u ride on a full tank?

It differs for every rider. I don't own an 800 but I have friends who do. They get anywhere from 35- 80+ a tank. I know that doesn't help much but it really depends on the type rider you are and the terrian you are on. A million people will leave there mileage but you will have to judge it for yourself. I do know that my friends can run for quiet some time on the Low fuel Display.

I have gotten 82 miles out of a tank and was not quite out. I was just on fumes. I had two sp 700's run out on the same trip they were running a bit heavier on the throttle than I was though. I was just getting mine broke in. I think riding pretty hard you should be able to get 50 to 60 miles out of a tank pretty easy though.

No reserve on the Hawkeye either. I don't care what you say about watch your guage or pay attention to how far you've gone, having a reserve side in the tank is great for peace of mind.

I usually got around 50-60 on my 800 as well. Now the MV is a different story. I get about 8.5 mpg with the mods I have, at pretty hard fast paced trail riding. With 8.75 gals onboard, I now can range what the Jap quads range on 5-6 gals!
