One other advantage of a supercharger over a turbocharger is that you can put an electric clutch in the drive, and by-pass it when it is not needed. This will save stress on the engine/driveline during normal driving around. Then when you need the power, you can flip the switch & go just like Chuck Norris on 'Lone Wolf McQuade'.
