do you guys know how much a winch off of a glacier plow can pull? i took mine off and was going to put it on my dads quad.

 

Crashby, I read on one of these forums that those self contained winches for a plow system is rated at about 300 pounds which is not a whole lot. I could be wrong but I know I read it somewhere.

Acutly I do belive it is 500lb but that still is not much those winchs have small abars and small motors I would not recomend useing id for anything but lifting a winch

 

i was going to use it to hoist deer up to skin them

 

if you use a block or even a block and pully I think that will work fine

 

just dont use it for tring to pull your self out and i think for that it would be fine.

 

i think it might pull the quad out if it is rated for 500lbs. it is a 97 honda 300 fourtrax 2wd.

 

with the wheeler. you, and the thick mud its more then 500 lb. pressure on the winch.
