Phoenix engine removal
Merry Christmas to all.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience removing the engine from a Phoenix. I have a stripped gear and need access to the trans however the engine and trans are one piece and on top of that in order to swing out the engine it seems that the rear axle needs to be removed to slide out the drive shaft to allow this to happen.
Does this sound correct or is there an easier way to do this. Thanks

Ok, I answered my own question. Yes you do need to swing the rear axle away by taking off the right side bolt holding it together with a 17mm hex key.
Now every time I take even the smallest puddle the belt drive takes in h2o; I recently saw a Phoenix on a trail where the owner closed these holes off and I trailed him the rest of the day and he was taking this thing to new depths....anyone else hear or do this simple mod. I guess the only downfall is that the drive belt will run warmer and maybe lower its useful life?
