hawkeye stall

hay gang:
Ok well I bought the wife a hawkeye back in august and for the most part the machine is great!! Every once in awhile when we are out riding some of the open trails say roughly 30mph the thing will just sputter down to idle and stops and wont start back up unless you open the gas cap...sounds like a pop can opening....put back on and the thing is good to go....I know its probably a vacuum problem. I checked all the hoses....and actually found a kink in one... trimmed it up so it fit better....but still does the same thing now and again....I was thinking of drilling a small hole straight down the gas cap(just an idea.. lol).....but dont want to do that yet until I check here to see if anyone has had the same problem and found a better fix....and defiently dont want to go to dealer for him to start it up and say yup no problems with it.....

Mine did the EXACT same thing and I found that the gas tank vent line was pinched between the black gas tank cover and a rib on the gas tank. VERY POOR routing of the vent if you ask me. I have not had a chance to ride the bike much after I thought I fixed that. I will check mine again and see if I can come up with something better. Why they routed the vent over that rib is beyond me. That is stupid and is asking for it to be pinched.
