Default trail blazer under powered?

Hey I got a 96 trail blazer. I realize that it is only a 250 and its not a speed machine at all. But I have seen numerouse pictures of people cat walking these things with the front wheels a good foot or more in the air. I cant even get mine off the ground at all. Is there a problem with mine or do these other people have mods that I dont? Thanks

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

If yours hasnt had a fresh topend do that and while your at it add a good pipe with matching clutch kit. Then your will run great.

I have thought about the clutch and pipe and I most likely will do that. As for a fresh top end from my understanding dotn I only need to redo that if I am loosing compression? Thats just what I have always been told. Thanks

I run a 95 Trail Boss 250 with no mods and no rebuilds, and I can pull the wheels off the ground just fine. Not to mention that it's as fast as my Ozark which is only 6 months old.

With the TB you can mod them pretty good just depends on what you have to spend. Mine is pretty highly modded an there is still a mod left to do. If you find a used 34mm carb fron a Polaris 400 motor it can be put on you TB an an get a clutch kit will get the front tire of the ground.

Well if you can manage that I should be able to get mine up wouldnt you think? Any ideas on what could be causing mine to be underpowered? Could the muffler be carboned up? Thanks again

You say it's underpowered. Does it bog down under acceleration? Is it cutting out. Give us an idea of some of the things that it does then we can better help you.
