Default 500 EFI Engine noise

Today is the first day I have ridden for extended periods or faster than 30mph and engine seems to make a lot of noise. It idels smoothly and runs great , plenty of power but sure makes a lot of noise ( ratteling ). It,s got 23 hours on it and is full of oil. How fast is the Sportsman 500 suppose to go? I got up to fifty and was still accelerating but ran out of road. Thanks

Yup the fuji engines are noisy. When I first got my X2 I thought the valves were going to fall out. After talking with others, I found out that the engine noise is normal. I'm not sure if the noise goes away after a while or I am just used to it now...but I don't notice it any more.

You should get about 58 - 60mph @ 6700rpm.

it has a star driven oil pump at the bottom of crankcase and them always have play in them and make noise, heard it on newer ones and heard it on a 95 425 magnum(basically the same concept engine) with 12000 miles on it.

The noise you hear is most likely not the engine but is the primary clutch assy.
You hear a clack clack clack on idle and the noise speeds up with engine speed.
Take a listen close to the front belt cover and if it's noisey there that is very normal.
