I have a 99 scrambler 500 4x4 and need to change the belt. Is it possable to use an 800 belt on the 500 if so will it be any different then using the 500 belt? Also if it will work on the 500 will it work on the TB 250?

Thanks for any help...

Its really best to stay with the factory belt that came on your 500. You won't gain any performance with the 800 belt and could possibly lose performance.

i put an 02 700 belt on my 02 500 because the top cog helps cool a little bit better.

carlisle and dayco also make a top cog belt that is made for the 500 scrammy. like it was stated before, the top coggers will last longer due to the cooling effect from the top cogs. depending on which one you get, they are made equal to, if not better than stock polaris belts.

right now i am running a carlisle MAX2 1121 top cogger. in side by side comparison, the calisle belt was much thicker than the stocker. thus, being much stronger and offering a little more surface area for the clutches to grip. it really felt like it made a big difference in performance.
