not starting/no power
#1
Hello all. I just got this 2001 Polaris Trailblazer on a trade. It had bad compression, so I put a new set of pistons and rings in it. the compression cold is now 110 steady. When I did get it to start, it had absolutely no power. Now I cant get it to restart. now, I did notice two tubes coming from the side of the carb, that arent connected to anything. one has what looks like a check valve inline. will this affect it? if they arent connected. or can someone tell me what they should be connected to. Or any ideas on why it isnt starting. Thanks for your assistance. sorry so lengthy!!

hi
if its anything like my scrambler 99 i would say one is the main fuel line ( left side of carb if you were sitting on it) that should be coming off the fuel pump, and the other is a pulse line (right side ) that also goes to the fuel pump. if it has no fuel it will not start. there is a vent tube that comes off the carb on the right but should be a different color hose like a clear but maybe yellowish cause of age. that comes off the right side of the carb if you are sitting on it. the only other vent line that i know of is the breather tube of the crank case that has a choke valve on it to keep water out of it.
like i said i have a scrambler so it may differ, best thing would be to get a manual and check it.
good luck
oh also check spark. pull spark plug. ground on frame with coil wire still attached . turn engine over. DO NOT HOLD PLUG ul get zapped lol. look to see if you get spark if not then it may be a kill switch stuck open happen to me

I pulled the carb off, thoroughly cleaned it, and put it back on. no difference. fuel flows from the tank to the carb ok. I am not sure if it is getting fuel in the carb though. from the throttle cable, to what appears to be a plunger like assembly located below the carb, there is a small tube that goes to the side of the carb. I pump the throttle and nothing comes out of it. is that for the oil? it has spark as well. still at a loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

did you clean all the jets and passsages ,,is your rubber intake cracked (mine was) and sucking air .. exaust could be plugged ... whats the sprak plug look like wet/dry .... does it have waek spark.... try pushing in your reverse override button... hope this helps ,,,i have a habit of buying atvs in peices and tinkering while drinking a soda*

oil is not injected in the csrb but into the intake. this does not have an acsulator(however its spelled) pump that when you pump the throttle that gas would shoot in.
