Default Xplorer 400 (1998) I Think

I am looking to buy a quad. I really want a new one but I found a used xplorer 400 4x4 for a descent price. I am not sure if it is a 1998 or a 1999? Does anyone know how to tell the difference?

Also what is a good price for this quad. It has 2000 miles on it. It looks to be in good condition. It is red in color with the sportsman style plastic. Whatever year it is, it still has the single head light. I think they got rid of the single head light in 2000.

Did they have the concentric drive system in the Xplorer's in 1998? If not what was the first year for it.

Does the 1998 and 1999 both have front shaft drive?

Are there any restrictions on 2 stroke ATV's (like where you can ride).

I am familiar with the engine b/c I owned a 2000 Sport 400. I also owned a 1999 Scrambler 500.

Does anyone own an xplorer 400 like I am talking about?

Any dependability issues?

Thanks

If you see a front shaf it 1999-2002, 1995-1998 only had 3 chain on front.
