speed in low range
We have an 01 explorer 400 with a hsp speed kit in it. When we go trail riding a lot of our trails are really tight and technical so I end up in low range. How fast are you supposed to accelerate up to while staying in low. I notice some gear whine when going fast in low. I rebuilt the trans once and don't really want to do it a second time. On our faster trails we comes come out of the turns at about 3500 and the quad revs out o 6500 but it never revs out that far on the trails. We put it in high range on the faster sections but I just get tired of stopping to change ranges all the time. Thanks Steve

speed in low range
I found a good way to find out alot about my PVT is to take off the cover and ride it to see where the belt clims to on the primary while riding in contrast to both the mph and the rpms. It cant climb any higher than the top of the primary clutch. I got 20 mph to the top of the primary in low and then it reved out to 25 and about 55-60 in high.
