Default Polaris 300 2x4

I just found a polaris 300 2x4 for sell for pretty cheap and was wondering if anyone knew anything about them. I,m not sure the exact year i think its a 94' or 95'. I want to know if they are reliable quads and if anyone has had any problems with them.

I have had a 94 300 since new and have had only a few problems with it. The starter is located low on the motor and seems to take on water pretty easy. I had to change out the drive and have the starter rebuild about 5 years ago. The only other thing was when i was changing out the starter I found a broken motor mount on the left side. I was wondering why the motor moved so much and this was why. According to the dude at the dealer, that was a common problem with that bike. Easy to fix and not a big dollar part. I have no idea how many miles I have on that thing, but it's alot, no speedo you know. I think its a great little bike and it will do 55 mph and is super easy on gas and oil. Motor is 2 stroke, so it does make some weard noises sometimes. I'm on the factory belt and chain and sprockets. Not as comfy as a sportsman, but I think it's a great little bike. My 2 cents.

I'm going to go ahead and buy it, seems to be a pretty good quad and its only $600 so thats a bonus. The starter is bad on this one but it will still pull start. I'm going to get a new starter, is there anything I can do to keep water from getting in to the starter?
