Default Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI versus 500 H.O. carb

I am looking at buying a Polaris Sportsman 500. I have found a new 2006 carbureted 500 H.O. for $5800 O.T.D.. I can't find a 2006 500 EFI, everyone has sold out. Yes I can buy a 2007 EFI for about $7300 O.T.D., but keep in mind that the regular 2007 Polaris sportsman no longer come with EBS (engine breaking system), and the rear work light as standard features. By the time I add those features I am lookong at an additional $300 to $600. So my question is, is the EFI worth paying an additional $2000 for.

I just got rid of an 05 500ho and my buddy has an 06 500efi. No diff in them at all. My carb would start just as easy, and was actually a little faster than his efi, but I had a clutch kit. I would not spend that much extra for efi alone! I didn't pay but $7700 OTD for my 07 stealth 800.

You should be able to geta a "standard" 07 500 EFI for less than that. It sounds like they are keeping that price high to make the price of the 06 500 carb look better.

i agree that they are tring to sell the 06. one thing to consider is the like you said the 06 has the ebs where the 07 standard dont and you wont have the chance of the 500 efi problems that people had. although it was in 06 and a reflashed computer fixed it.

If he's talking about a carb 500 it must be and 06 because they don't make them in 07. The 06 carb didn't have EBS either.
