this is kinda of my own personal feeling toward other people(not on here) that claim to know what their doing or charging for work they dont do or not knowing how to do it and just fake it. i will be the first person to say i am far from knowing 1/10 of what there is for mechical knowledge of differnt products and any advise i would give is mostly guessimating or from experince that ive either learned or been shown. for you that have been following the "xlt post trailblazermudrunner" put up looking for help, here is a update.(your not going to beleave this) after deciding to help this young fella because i felt a little sorry knowing how much money his mother had paid out to this guy to fix his sled(around $800.00) i had it drop off and started in. first clutches; drive- weights and pins completely worn out. driven; helix was hammered on to shaft, had to use a flie and hammer to get it a part. basicly the helix is junk but fixed and cleaned it best i could so it shifts properly again. carberators: first one wasnt too dirty, but the cables were way off and all three were badly out of sync. 2nd won when i took the plug to drain the gas the main jet fell out into the bowl. the idles were way off as were the air screws. the carb boots were install upside down and not tight to the engine. after all this was straighten out i found the minute you tries to put the hood down the sled would rev up and take off on its own. yep you guessed it the throttle cable was routed wrong on the handle bar going around a bolt to make it pull the thottle when hood was shut. the moral of this whole ordeal after 8 hrs of labor and giving a couple of my old parts it down starts and idles and runs perfect. i feel like slapping the crap out of the guy who screwed these poor people over w/ his so called reapir work and knowlegde(lack of). sorry to ramble.

Yeah if you dont know who your taking your stuff to it can be a headache when you get it back and it runs worse than before. I see a few people on here trying to tell people how to do stuff and they are leading them into a prob that doesn't even exist. You seem like a pretty good mechanic stendori, do you work for a dealer or just learned on your own.

jta4455, personally i feel im a half a.. back yard mechanic. thats why i dont mind people correcting me and listen to what others half to say. i personally dont try to down anybody even w/ the wrong advise to others, i thier mind they think their trying to help. my back ground is alot of trial in error and having some extremly (real)good mechanics that i call for help. ive been working on everything on and off for about 25 years and you pick up alot in you open your ears and shut your mouth lol. in least inmy case.

Stendori, spoken like a real man. I'm with you 100% on trying to help if possible. Don't think you know something and make more work and spend more money because"pride" is on the line. True man!

Sten...
Hey good job on helping the kid out.. Yeah I hate people like that too. When I sell something I am up front 100% honest. And if something is broke I will fix it before i sell it. That way I can have a clear mind.
You did good man....

Sten -
With the sounds of all of this has anyone
considered sabotage? By your description
how could anyone (self proclaimed paid
professional) be that incompetent?
I second the other post'rs on this thread,
Kudos to you man for helping the kid out
and fixing all his mechanical problems
and identifying all of those problems.
You know this could be a good side thing for
you? Computer repair and networking was
a hobby for me before it became my career!
Just a thought...8)

Hey Stendori,
It sure is nice to see and hear someone like you willing to help out a young man by devoting your time to right what appears to be another wrong by an unscrupulous or at best totally incompetent individual. This is what I like about quads, snowmobiles, etc.--the people. And you just hopefully instilled that desire to help others in tb by your example. Good work and thank you.
