Default 2002 Scrambler 400 Problems

I have a 2002 Scrambler 400 that is leaking coolant out of a hole near the water pump. In addition, you can only go in reverse when you hold in the overide button, without holding the overide the engine bogs down. Please help!!!

Sounds like you've got a water pump seal that's gone south. Water pumps are designed to weep coolant at this hole when the seal starts wearing out.

Did you buy the Scrambler new or used? If a different primary clutch spring has been installed, it wouldn't be at all unusual for it to bog down in reverse without the override button. That is how mine operates after I went with an aftermarket pipe and clutching...

The Scrambler was new when we bought it. We use to be able to go in reverse with no problems, now we need the overide button. Also when you go in to reverse the green 'R' light will fade out almost like the bike is lacking power, could this be a battery issue? It has been a long time since we were able to start the bike using the key, we have to pull start.
