Default transmission chain

Would someone please tell me how much slack this chain should have or what the length should be? I think it is jumping off of the gears under hard acceleration. oh yea it is a 97 trail blazer 250 thanks.

A rule of thumb that I use is when you split the tranny cases you replace the chain

When you replace the chain, should you also replace the gears/shaft as well. How reliable are these chains. I have 2 scrambler 4x4's.
