Polaris On Demand all wheel drive: how does it work?

Hmm, its interesting to see the explainations
of how the AWD works on the Polaris. I have
heard others say the same as you TLC, and not
to contradict (cause I am a ATV newbie ~1 yr.)
but when I engage my AWD I have noticed
all four pulling without slippage. In fact just
recently I was tearing up my back yard then
I noticed all man its in AWD after switching
back to 2WD, different feel, lighter, more
peppy, and no digging effect. There was
no mud/water whereby it was slipping.
So it appears as if all wheels were in work?
(Maybe I'm wrong?)
Like to know the answer here, ohh BTW I
am running SP 450 (06). Please advise!

I was tearing up my back yard
I like 2wd 180 degree spin out to turn around on a gravel road quickly. Once I tried that in AWD and it almost threw me off the bike and put the bike in the side ditch.

And you can switch it on or off the fly. My friends 660 Grizzly has to come to a complete stop at a bad section than he put in in Diff lock (True 4x4 mode) proceeds through the bad section of trail than stops again! to put in back into 3x4 or 2x4 mode.

I think you will get a thousand different ways the Polaris 4wd is supposed. I dont think anyone ACTUALLY knows how it is supposed to work. I have seen one work different from another. They are too tempermental. They work great when they work right. Mysp600 will lock all 4 when on and is hard as heck to steer but my brother inlaws 800 while in awd steers like its not even on but when he gasses it all 4 spin. Same system 2 different ways it works. This has been an ongoing question for years. One rider will say it works one way and another will say different.

I don,t know, my dad has a 97 sp and another guy in out riding group has a 04 SP and all 3 seem to work the same way. I never once seen only one wheel spinning on the front end like a differential slip type.

Polaris On Demand all wheel drive: how does it work?
Another situation with my AWD experience.
I was stuck in a mud (marshy) over my left
rear wheel, the right rear half way BUT my
two front both on dry land. I was in AWD
never saw the my front spin in an attempt
to pull out my rear? BTW, I was shifting, jumping,
wiggling side to side to pull myself out. Had
to end up winching myself out. FYI, stock Carslie
489 25" tires
My thoughts are I was stuck so good that
any power shifted to the front was lower
than the poundage resistance ratio of my
stuck rear tires. Thoughts?

Polaris On Demand all wheel drive: how does it work?
Well I guess this will be my first post.
Can't speak for how the Polaris AWD works, but my Hawkeye has seen 39 mph, and it wasn't topped out. Mine dosen't even have 1 hour of run time on it, so I'm taking it easy for now, but it has pulled my 185 lbs up a few hills with NO problem.

Caper -
Yes, I was in AWD in high (forward)
with Icon on display. I was stuck really
good as to why I don't cross that
marshy stream anymore until maybe
I get some mud lites or swap lites about
26 or 27" and maybe upg my clutch kit.
All in pondering mode, but some time this
year I would like to mod my bike that way.

In awful stuff use your low range always.
