I have a 2006 Sportsman 800 and it came with the winch (I think its a polaris one). The issue is that I have had the winch in for repair twice now and it still is giving me problems. The in/out switch begins to not work and all I get is a click sound and nothing happens. The dealer has replaced the solenoid twice now and it will work fine for a couple uses then slowly becomes unresponsive.

Are there any other suggestions to give the dealer, beacause whatever they are trying seems only to be a temporary fix.

Check the first page of this polaris forum. There is a winch recall. That might be your problem. Hope this helps.

 

I had the same thing with one of mine, I had taken it apart to clean and when I put it back together it started doing this, I was finding out it was a bad connection where the two wires go into the winch or in that same area in side the winch.

 

they did have a recall, but if its a warn 2500 its more then likely the newer type and not the 8 post. make sure all connections are tight, because it sounds like its not contacting.

 

I got my 2500 Warn in 06' after my quad
purchase. How do I know if its recalled?
