Who owns the oldest Polaris?
Everyone here talks about their new ATV but I also read many of you have older ATVs.
Like to know who has the oldest?
How many miles?
Like to hear about good solid engines with no major work on them.
Is it because you maintain them well or just lucky.

My scrambler is a '99. Maybe 3000 miles. Very dependable. I bought it used. Needed the rear carrier/axle bearings and rear caliper rebuilt soon after purchase. Also needed the belt cover replaced. Two sets of rear pads. Still has the stock tires with good tread. Its a keeper. Needs more power. The 500 was great after the 250x but now seems a little anemic. Never enough power!

At my parents house, I have a 96 Polaris sportsman 500. It has I think around 1500 miles or so on it. Replaced the battery a few times, and the brakes all around. I flipped it on myself once, had to replace the steering shaft, front rack, high beam, needs a new belt which we have but have not yet put on. It has been a really strong runner. Took it to a couple of poker runs in Cochranton, PA. Now my wife and I own a 2006 Sportsman 700 twin EFI, and my dad adopted the 500. The 500 also has a plow on it which my dad uses to plow his driveway with, also has the original tires.

I've got a 94 400L! The motor is in tip-top condition even after ~4500 miles! The thing still has all the power a person could want from it. I've written in a couple of times with an AWD issue though, the front right won't turn, but I'm going to tear into this weekend hopefully and fix that. Other than that, it's still a solid quad. Thinking of selling it in the near future for $1,500 and upgrading to a new one!

My dad has a 97 Sportsman with 7000 miles! I think I put most of the miles on it. Changed the belt 4 times, the brake pads many times due to not EBS in those days, your brakes were your ebs. The front stock Good year tires wore out before the back even looked used, since then it had two new sets of tires.
It is till going strong, but it should its a 4 stroke. My 96 Ski-Doo 2 stroke twin 500 sled also has 7000 miles and it still has 135 psi compression it both cylinders still!
