Clutch kits - Sportsman 450
#1
All -
I have seen alot of previous posts
on this topic since all of those of
testify that upgrading from the
stock clutch to these aftermarket
greatly enhances the performance.
Please tell me the type (Heelclicker)
and about how much I can expect to
spend, thanks!
I would like to also know what performance
gains would I expect? Speed, power or more
torque? All of the above? Depends on the
clutch kit type or how its configured?
My justification is I am planning to upgrade
my tire size and type (27", Mudlites as of now)
and appears I need the extra HP for that as
well as benefit from a little more power/speed.
(Can't justify buying another bike for now)
Thanks all for your input!

form what ive read its more for a good belt grip and less slippage form taking off. dont really know if it would be faster on top end or having any more ponies.

Have you checked out other Clutch kits
whereby you wouldn't need to manually
retrofit new parts into it? After reading your
posts on the Heelclicker I am a little leary
now pursuing that. I am relatively happy
with my speed and such, just trying to do
the right engineering before I go up in size
on the tires w/o any loss to any power/speed,
anyways you know the deal.
Thanks Bro.

i have a few things done to my lil 400 .. i tossed the heelclicker and epi big foot around so much people would not even talk to me anymore! but at this time i have a heelclicker on order , i asked alot of Q"s and foumd the heelclicker at no time will take away bottom , mid.or topp end.. it will grab your belt tighter, but (man i hate to say this) you have a 450 you only have so much to gain.. heelclicker will not give or produce power it just helps it get to you tires better.. i dont even know if i will see a difference on my bike with my 27inch tires ..now you put this kit a a big bore or a twin there is were the heelclikcer will shine due the high power and more weight addded... you might want to think about playing around w with you jetting and get a high flow air filter.. i had a aaen pipe on on realy like the bottom end power but it was too loud for nigh rideing( my fav)... but the pipe was my best gain yet, still it was noth worth the noise... hope i could help... go to www.highlifter.com to the polaris section and find a guy called cob- he is the heeclicker MAN!!!!!

Good info OneSavage! Believe me, I know
there is NO one silver bullet and every
product has its pros/cons and many
people prefer certain vendors over
others and have dogmatic beliefs on what
they deem best.
I just can't wait to get back out on
the trail..8)
