WE used zip ties on Humve CV's when doing replacements ,

Default Tie strap on cv boot?

Zip ties should be carried out on the trail. In a pinch, they can keep you from losing all your grease on your joint. Also it will keep the dirt out!!!!!
Under no circumstances!!! Let me say this again; UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should they be used as a permanant replacement for the real thing.
Yes it is harder to do and yes it costs more to do. but for f**** sake, do the job right and save yourself a s***load of hassles in the future!

Default Tie strap on cv boot?

i've tried that many times and they dont clear between the cv joint and the carrier use a clamp or stainless steel wireand twist that till its tight the zip tie will only work on the inner part of the axle there theres no gap to clear.

well stendori Im now 40 i was maybe 18-19 somewhere in there .and at 3am the the cop was in no mood to listen to some drunk kid tell him how to do his job.I would have gotten the cuffs but my friends were already useing them...lol...in them days i had a nack for learning things the hard way.
