yeh- thats the one I won - what exactly does private label mean? I take it as made by someone else for Polaris. I would assume that since Warn had the orignal contract - theyare probably the maker.

 

The new polaris winch is definetly not a warn. I've install a few of these lately; to me they appear to be a Ramsey, but could be a ramsey copy.

No problems with the ones we have installed.

i'll stick w/ a warn. i guess a ramsey is like any other one, some good, some bad. have heard both on the older ones.

 

The Polaris wrinkle one is definatley not a warn. Had one bought last May and it crapped out on me couple weeks ago. I had only put it through light use, nowhere what I had put warn ones through. Took to dealer and he swapped it for another. On box is made in China soooooooooo. Will stick with warn next one have to actually buy.

 

yea i had my doubts that polaris actualy made it. to me its just like the gorilla (a warn want to be) its not up to snuff and the one i had to deal w/ had issues. but some guys have them and like and swear by them.

yes i winched myself out of most of the holes unless it was easier to hook onto my buds wheeler. i havent heard anything good about viper. im a firm beleaver in you get what you paid for. however for the price of a gorilla winch and if it last a couple of years it payed for it self. BUT if your buy your self stuck in a hole and the winch fails.................. do i need say more. this is only my own opinion and not a debaitable question for me.

 

i have the polaris 2500# , yes it is a warn and no i am not impressed.. i am on my third motor , 2 under warrenty 1 out of my pocket.. it has left me stuck 1 time and it was smokeing.. but my quad was not much help, 1 busted frt axel and a beer can sized hole in the diff.. i, like stendori believe you get what you pay for , but I will not buy another warn.. if i take int apart and clean and re-grease every time i use it it works a littke better but i should not have to do this EVERY time i use it.. one last note: i do use it to lift my plow so it has a few hours on it .. the first 2 0r 3 times i used it it was awsome, but it went down hill very quickly... my .2cents

 

onesavage,sorry to here that man. this is my 3rd one ive bought from the 2000 to my 3.0 on my 800. ive never had an issue w/ any one them except i ran out of pulling power once(yea stuck that bad w/ the 335 and the 2000 lb). ive also installed about 10 of these in the same range on my friends differnt wheeler,honda,kaw, and yams. none of them have told me about any issue. the only one that had a issue of needed to be taken apart was the 2500 lb gorilla one.
