Default X2 wheels & tires

Need some advice from all you X2 owners. I'm waiting for delivery of my new 500 X2 LE, and I've just had a disturbing realization. I had planned to immediately replace the stock tires with a set of 26" Mudlite XTRs that I wanted to mount on the factory aluminum wheels. Only problem is, the back wheels seem to be 10" on the X2. I've look around, and can't find any tire that that comes in 26/11/10. The stock tires on the X2 look pretty wimpy, and I need something that will work in the mud. Am I stuck having to buy a new set of wheels too? Why did Polaris put 10" wheels on the X2?

Thanks guys.

I suggest double checking the reality of them being 10's - the 450 is spec'd with 10's on the website, but they come with 12's all around. You may be in luck

I really think you will be suprised - I was when I found out mine were 12's - I replaced my steel wheels with Vision's and I went through the same thing until I found out they are really 12's on the back

I'm gonna call the dealer in a little while and see if he knows anything (for once). Where in NY are you, Brutus? We ride out there every year near Cooperstown.

Yup, he tells me that he's fairly sure they are 12". Wish that made me feel totally relieved..

I've heard that part of NY state is really nice. I been wanting to get out there and go to a race at the Glen.

i wouldnt worry a bit - look at all the pictures you can find on the X2 and you definately can tell the rear rims are the same size as the fronts. ALSO, yours is coming with aluminum wheels - to my knowledge, they dont make 10" rear aluminums for Polaris - thus forceing the 12" to be supplied. I would bet my quad on the fact yours is coming with 12's all around (well alomst anyway) .

Thanks again, Brutus. Now I do feel better. Funny you should mention it, but I have a nice big picture of the X2 LE saved on my 'puter, and I actually scaled it on my screen and you're right, fronts and backs are the same size. I ordered the tires a little while ago.
