Default Front Hub Oil Leak??

I noticed that my inner rim (next to the brakes) on one of my front tires had oil all over it. I traced the leak back to the hub. I am going to tear apart this weekend and wanted to know if anyone ever had this issue or was familiar with it. Is there a seal that needs to be replaced etc? I looked thru some of the old posts and couldn't find anything yet. Thanks in advance for any guidance or leads

Default Front Hub Oil Leak??

I had the same problem on my 2004. There is an inner hub seal that needs to be replaced. Not a real difficult job, just need to take the hub all the way off the shaft, tap out the old seal and replace with the new. The hardest part is removing the old seal. I placed the hub upside down and put a long, flat-head screwdriver through the hub and gently tapped out the old seal. Just an FYI, when mine leaked onto my tire, didn't notice it for about a week. Where the hub fluid sat on the tire, the rubber actually bubbled. I replaced my tire as a precaution. Might want to check your tire also.
