Default Rev. Mod. HELP!

Hey, Newbie here. Lots of great info here and I need some help.

I have a 98 Polaris explorer 400. I washed my wheeler today, now my rev overide doesn't work. I've been wanting to do the mod, I guess nows my chance. I went through the search function and it seems most threads are for newer machines and the threads for pre03...the wiring colors don't match my machine. I have 3 wires coming off the override switch, colors are Tan/White, Green and Purple. Which wires to cut and which wire to run to power?? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me here...stumped!

Default Rev. Mod. HELP!

On my 97 425 I un-plugged the grey-orange, hooked purple to grey-white. These wires are under the headlight cover, hope this helps I've also heard you can just unplug the black wire.

Default Rev. Mod. HELP!

Thanks for the effort guys. What it came down to was my wiring being diffent colors than previously threads, it had me stumped. I made the trip to the local dealer and spoke with a tech, he set me straight with a wiring diagram and how to. Seems I just need to unplug the black wire coming out of the "override" box. It's located behind the radiator on the frame. With the wiring diagram in hand it should be a quick deal.

Thanks again. BTW, this is a great site for atv info. I've spent a few days now searching the web and MANY ATV sites. This one seems to have it all. I look forward to helping when I can.

Default Rev. Mod. HELP!

If you guys do a search you will see my post from about a month ago where I described in detail how to do it on the machines with brown whit green and purple. I will do a search and post the link. also there is a copy of the wiring diagram on the net I'll get those too. Maybe we could start a polaris tech section on here with sticky how to threads.

Bill

Update here is my post, sorry to say my tan wire was gray but it was close.
