I'm a little confused, "won't crank, only turn over"?
If it dies when you give it throttle, there is a safety device. The throttle cable may be out of adjustment. There are some contacts in the box on the handlebars that cut out spark if the throttle sticks wide open. Just an idea.

well, i fired up...didn't think it was getting in spark!, it ran for a few seconds, when I gave it some gas once it hit kinda high on the rpm, it felt like it wasn't getting any more spark?? then it went dead.
and now it won't crank, only turn over.

it will not start...the engine is turning over, but i'm not getting any fire that I can see with the spark plug pulled out while cranking.

Also, 2manytoys asked if you did a compression check. If you don't have a compression gauge, there is an alternative , though primitive. Put your finger over the spark plug hole. if it doesn't feel good, you have no compression.
