Default how do you know....

when a front bearing is bad?

when a rear bearing is bad?

when a strut blows?

when tie rod ends need replacing?

what are the symptoms that a newbie should be looking for?

thanks!

most of the time you can hear the bad bearings will be making grinding, howling, or some kind of noise. they also have play in them as well. same w/ the tie rod ends will have play where you can move them around.usually while sitting still you can move the handle bars around when you shouldnt be able to. strut just like on a car will have no rebounding effect and the gas/liquid will have leaded out. be alot more bounce.

I have had to do all four bearings on mine, but only one made any noise. I have made it a habit to jack and try to move all of my tires up and down every time I wash it. Now I am getting ready to do some work on the a-arm bushings. trust me, when they go back in, there will be some grease fittings installed.

Also, be sure to check all of your CV boots after every ride.
