I have a Sportsman 500 Ducks Unlimited that is titled as a 2001 but is not an HO. Are there other models out there like this or just the DUSE? It has a march 2000 build date on it. My wifes 335 is a 2000 model and has a June build date. This is confusing!@#$% I did get a good deal on it as a closeout for the new HO's but I guess after looking at the 335's build date I am just curious. If it needs engine, steering or braking warrantee work done, should I ask for the 2001 upgrade parts to be put in my SP?? Just food for thought.......?????

yours is just like the 2000's,they released the DUSE as a early release for 2001 but it dident have any of the improvments that the HO's have.

Hey Guys, Does this mean that if I was to go and buy a DU that it would not have the HO engine in it? Do any of the special edition units have the HO in it? I just bought a new 01 SP HO just before hunting season and the machine worked so well that a hunting buddy that had a 98 SP came home and sold it and was getting a new DU machine, but if it does not have the HO engine in it I am sure that he will not go with the DU but buy a SP HO.

if your buddy goes and buys a DUSE sp500 now then it is a HO. the only ones that werent are the early-release ones. they were just like the 2000 models but polaris called them 2001 models. the ones out now are "real" 2001 models.
