Just got a 2001 Sportsman, and the winch worked fine. Now it does'nt, only moving 1/8" or so occasionally if I try it enough times.

1) Is the toggle switch by the accesory oulet for the oulet or does it control power to the winch also?

2) Any other ideas? Does anyone have a idea how the winch is wired so I can fix it.

PS the dealer is closed until Wednesday.

The toggle switch most likely is for the winch. That's how most dealers install them. I didn't like where they put the switch, so I bypassed mine. The winch will work whenever I turn the switch.

Sounds like the rotary switch is faulty. It has a 6 month warranty.
Check all wire connections from the battery to switch to the winch motor. Make sure that they are all tight.
