Default once again

once again my 87 trailboss is dead well mad as well be dead..... we were out riding and the thing just lost power it has no power to get up a hill or ride on flat i had to push it out all the way wit my grizz....so i look in the airbox as im tryin to start it and it is sprayin alot of gas in there..... it will start and run real deep instead of like high pitched how it did before... i took the carb apart and cleaned out everything so i dont see how it is gettin to much gas, if that is the problem.... any ideas would be greatly appriciated.....

did you do a compression test on it to see how it has? did you check to make sure all vent lines are clear and not pinched? i know you already probably heard these questions.

did you make sure the float is good and not worn out or dirt keeping it open. if its out of adjustment it will let too much gas in as well. good luck .

but for it to be running fine the shut it off for 5 min while i towed it out of a trail cause there is no reverse then start it up again and the power of it just be gone.... the adjustments did get touched... could that of damaged something pulling it backwards about 20 yards when its in drive.... cause there is no neutral or reverse....

Have you been running through any deep water? Check your muffler and headpipe for water. That might be giving you the low "blub blub" noise.

when my exhaust was plugged with water the carb would spray a lot of gad into the airbox. It was just like it was flooding.

I had the same thing happen on my 03 trailboss, 60 miles from home base. I took the lid off the airbox and it ran good enough to get it home. What i found when i pulled the carb apart was that the main jet had actually fallen out and was rolling around in the bowl. I screwed it back in and all was fine. I rode often with the guy that bought it and he has not had it happen again, but a few friends that also have trailboss' have had the same thing happen. Good luck with it!
