I have a 1990 Trailboss 250 which has lost spark and am wondering what I need to fix it??? Can any of the electrical parts be tested?? Where do I start. Thank You for the help.

 

What did you check so far???...How do you know it lost spark???...Caper.....

I just bought it and the guy said it did not run so I pulled the plug wire off the plug and put a plug in it and laid it on the head and turned it over and got no spark. Whats next ??? Thank You

 

if your starting it w/ the switch and not the pull rope chances are the kill switch is working ok. the coil might be bad or it can be in the stator behind the fly wheel.

I'd suggest getting the Clymer or Haynes manual. They will walk you through a step by step process of anything you can check without dealer tools. I prefer the Clymer manual but they don't sell it for every model. I believe only Haynes makes a manual specific for your '90 Trailboss.
