hey everybody. im new to this forum stuff and i need some help. i have an 06 hawkeye 4x4, and im a rookie at riding it. are there any ways to make it faster, using bolt on parts. i saw a k&n air filter, and something called a precharger. do these work, and how much more power could i expect from installing them? thanks for the help

I'm the wrong guy to give you an opinion on ad ons as I like to leave it stock if its running well, and I live in an area where, if my machine breaks down and I have to walk, it will be through Mr. Grizzlies back yard.

Sometimes you have to run what you brung. You just can't push a rope. Good luck and have fun with your machine.

I have a stock 06 Hawkeye with standard jetting. When I get above 4,000 ft I have a little proble and have drilled 6 holes in my airbox for higher altitudes. This makes it run great and I have had it almost 7,000 ft with still a lot of kick.

Oh when below 4,00 I just put a piece of duck tape over the holes.
I have 3 on each side towards the rear of the airbox top.

Iggy in Arizona.

Mine starts to sputter at 6000 ft on a hot day 80 degrees. I've wondered about the extra air being needed. What temp. were you at when you took the airbox off?

Thanks for the info Iggy. I just finished reading some stuff from "Thunder Products" about their TPI airbox mods. Just a total pile of misinformation, I like your duct tape idea better.

I live in avonale ,az , and I also have noticed when I have been out hunting preformance issues above 4500 ft, can you please tell me what size holes that you drilled as I do not wish to screw up a good machine.
Thak you

I think 3/4" holes were used but should wait for someone to confirm it.
