what should i look at i have been al thruogh the front end but i cant find anything
it only happens sometimes and sounds like a popping noise just one sharp POP
i have checked the axles and there is only a little bit of play like always and my boots are still in good shape what else could it be?

 

clicking while turning ...it must be the C.V.joints........Caper......

When they ever went in my car........it was making the clicking sound only when I turned!!!...Caper.......
That's when they need to react to the different speed each wheel is turning.......That is just my point of view on you trouble........I not saying that is it for sure....Just telling you what I think!!.....So don't go out and buy new ones because of what I said....LOL...LOl.......Caper.........

 

differnt pressure points and more/les weight on them make them click at differnt times. i just did on e on a kaw. that only did it in reverse.

 

its cool I just want to try and diagnose the prob ASAP im going to Wayne national forest
on friday and i want to make sure its ok . Its prob worth saying also that it will do it sometime while sitting still if I just keep turning the handlebars back and forth

also would this just need grease or are the cv joints trashed?

 

Get somebody's ear down there and pin-point it standing still just turning the handlebars!!!!!....Caper.......

 

if its just starting then it will go a long time before it really goes to the breaking point. i just hate that noise. did you get water in there by any chance? thats usually what takes them out.
