sp 700 tire size?
#1
2003 sp 700 with stock rims. what size tire can i run without lifting or any rubbing up front. was thinking 26-9-12 front and 26-12-12 in the rear. maybe even 27s. thank you in advance.

im pretty sure you can run 27" w/out rubbing on the height as i run them on my 800 but the 9" in front will be tight. you may need spacers to prevent them from rubbing on tierods or struts.

On my 05 700 I run 27-9-14 in front and 27-12-14 in the rear. I did not need to add spacers fo the 9" fronts. 05's come stock with 26" tires. Not sure if the 03 does as well or if they are 25" tires stock. I got the XTR's and what I notice is that you are much more likely to have belt spin than tire spin with all the extra traction.

My 06' could not fit 9" wide 26" swamp fox plus tires on the stock rims. I actually had two fitment issues. One the tire side wall was rubbing the tie-rod and second the lugs (side biters) on the tire were hitting the spring on the strut. 1" spacers cleared up both problems. Switched to ITP 108 wheels and I now have no spacers and no fitment issues.

The 03 has the old plastic style like my 02. My 26" tires bottom out pretty bad on big hits/bumps. They rub on the fender and splashguard behind the front tires and above the footwells, but it's not bad enough where I need a lift kit. Some people say 26x9x12 mudlites work just fine on stock rims and no spacers up front but I'm not sure. Different tires fit differently.

i wonder if the older ones like 02 thru 04 are a differnt strut styling for clearance between the tire and strut. i know on mine the stock tires are fairly close w/ the 8'" tires. just wondering.
