I'm looking at buying a 2000 500 and a 2001 500 HO. Both have extremely low miles and both come with a plow that I'll be plowing my driveway with. The 2000 is $700 less. Is there a big difference between these two wheelers? Is the 2001 a much improved bike over the 2000? I'm leaning towards the 2001, but maybe I'm foolish, what do you think?

 

The only difference is a few more horsepower, and a few mph. I've had both at the same time, and for $700 less I'd take the 2000

what yrs did they have the soft cams that wore off the lobes. i would buy the H.O myself.

 

I have owned a 2000, 2001 and a 2002. The HO came out in 2001 and it was a very nice BOOST IN POWER. Be sure to get an HO (2001 or newer). WORTH THE EXTRA $$$$$.

 

go with the HO, the difference between the two are the cams are bigger on the HO and the carburetor is bigger

 

i could be wrong, but i was thinking it was almost 8 hp more of the h.o
