When you rebuilt this engine, did you do anything with the carb?

Maybe try and adjust the cable linkage. I believe the button that you are talking about is a "safety" switch of some kind.

I had the carb rebuilt during the time i was putting the engine together and it started right up on the first start. It ran for about a month with no problems until now....

I was thinking the same thing. Make sure you check where the carb goes to the engine. That rubber sometimes cracks creating an air leak.

The switch in the throttle control is a safety switch that is causing your motor to shut down. (I know the same thing happened to me)
You can adjust the cable to not trip the switch when you release the thumb lever... or you can follow the wires down to the circuit board and pull the one wire off the circuit board. But if you do that, then you have just made Ralph Nator unhappy.
The switch gives you a way to shut the quad off when the throttle cable freezes open and you push the thumb lever back to idle. (actually a little past idle) but to me it is just as easy to hit the kill switch if the cable freezes.

Let us know if this is the problem

Yep that was the problem!!! The little switch was really loose so I just disconnected it seems to work just fine. BUT..........is there a senor or switch that is connected to the reverse position??? B/c its been stalling on me a lot when I put it into reverse, any ideas???

Well one problem solved and now there is another one!!! Thanks guys for the help on my first fix, let see what we can come up with for the reverse problem

The reverse override button should help. if that is the problem then it can be connected with a relay to close when you put it in reverse.

Does it run ok in reverse if you hold in the override button?
