Not using as a jet ski yet but have considered using it as an anchor for my boat. Heard from Polaris yesterday and they say the dealer hasn't determined what caused this particular failure yet. After the previous two, one would have to consider that the failure was caused by the bike being a lemon. Something is definately not right with the engine. This means that no resolution this week so the bike will just sit there eating up the remainder of my warranty period. The next time I go riding and it takes a dump, I won't be covered. Have to wonder if this tactic is used when corporate deems they have already covered to much warranty dollars on one bike. Funny thing is, they denied any coverage on the bike eating a belt at 250 miles. That was another 2 hundy out of my pocket. Polaris, the company that cares.

Well, Polaris has agreed that it is another warranty issue and they will resolve it. Seems the bike spun a cam bearing and had a counter balance problem??? They had to pull the engine out of the bike to get to it. That in itself sounds expensive to me. I don't know engines, I know mechanics but with the other problems I have had it really makes me want to get rid of the machine. I won't get the bike back for another couple of weeks and that is right about the time my warranty runs out. This thing scares the you know what out of me. With all of the downtime I have had on this bike I was only able to put 450 miles on it during the warranty period. Normally I would have over a grand on a bike. With it's record of being towed back on each of the three trips I have been able to make this year, the next one out of warranty will probably cost me a bucket load of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$'s. I'm stumped on this one. Should probably clean her up and put her on Ebay but don't want to stick someone else with this lemon I have been blessed with. I added front and rear brush guards, 14" ITP ss 108's with 27" mudlite xtr's, PIAA floods in front, rear compartment rack extender, heated hand grips, quik release wind shield, front rack extender, ram beverage holder, hitch and some other stuff that I will take a bath on when I sell it. This has been the worst ATV experience I have ever had. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? Perhaps leave the key in it, tape a hundred dollar bill to the seat and park it on the interstate? Just kidding, but my frustration level has about topped off.

Mudbog, sounds like you got a factory floor bike, one they dropped on the factory floor. You definitely got a lemon, based on the series mechanical failures you suffered. If Polaris had any honor at all, they would replace your bike, take your old one for evaluation and say there sorry. I would just tell everybody i could about what happened to you- internet, newspapers, fraud shows on local T.V., everywhere. Good luck!!!

Holy Smokes! You definitely got a lemon. We hear all the time Polaris does not stand tall after the sale. I hope your dealer will help you on this one. Let us know the dealers name and if we should spread the good or bad word.
I have to say my 07 800X2 has been trouble free so far. I have 600 miles on it. I do think I need the valves adjusted due to a ticking noise at idle. I had to go around a downed tree on the trail last week and bounced the front corner off a tree. Did not sound good. Ripped a nice piece of bark off. I just needed to pull my brush guard back a little but no damage to the plastic. I was lucky I had the guard. I also noticed a small screw that goes through a clamp and holds the right rear brake line to the axle had the head sheared off. It seems the brake line was not centered properly during installation therefore causing stress on the screw. Once the line was repositioned and the old screw removed things should be fine.
I love this machine and would stick with it. Good luck!

Yeah, I have to say the low end grunt and the Cadillac ride make it an attractive ride. I wouldn't have dumped what I did into it if I wasn't planning on keeping it a while. That's what is so disappointing.

if you can aford it, strip it of the extra parts you put on and trade it at another dealer for a differnt one maybe even a differnt color if you have too. once warranty is gone, you wont want to pay the repair bills for sure. just a thought for ya. i would rather take a lose now then loose real big at the end if you know what i mean.

Not a bad idea. I still have the stock wheels for it and all the lock and ride stuff would be transferable. Problem is, don't know that I am gonna get another Popo. Might even take a wack at that new A/C Thundercat. Used to ride the A/C sleds and really enjoyed them back when it used to snow. Even had a couple of Thundercat 1000's. One of them was set up as a lake racer and turned over 200 hp. Now that was some serious fun.

Still no word on when I am going to get my bike back. Just hear that they are working on it. Probably get it back on the last day of the warranty period. I did, however, look up lemon laws in the state of Illinois and ATV's are covered. Has a lot to do with how many times your vehicle is out of service and if you have the ability to rely on your vehicle for it's intended use. Well, I have certainly lost alot of drive time on the bike and I certainly don't trust it as far as I can throw it. We are doing a family vacation in August for a week of riding. Perhaps I can put a poll together as to on what day it takes a dump this time. My guess would be either day one or day two. We won't even be able to venture far from the cabin because I don't want to burn up one of my other bikes having to tow it back for to many miles. I guess that's the part about the being able to rely on it for it's intended use. I am going to put a call into my dealer tomorrow morning and ask them what they think I should do. Can't wait to hear the answer.
