It sucks you had to go through all that. But, on the upside, atleast they gave you a good deal on your new Stealth! Hope it holds out better than the old Sporty did! Enjoy!

 

thats weird cause I have an 800 Stealth (which Ive had some issues like the factory forgetting the clutch cover gasket, weak main clutch spring broken motor mount...) but anywho the stealth comes standard with dual exhaust.

 

Dealer says they make a variety of different stealth models. There was one that had duel exhaust and no winch and the one I have with single exhaust and a winch. He commented when I asked that they change it up so often he can't keep up with the manufacturers. Oh well, actually like the sound of the single better and the Aaen pipe I will add after warranty will sound even better.

Wow, I just read this whole thread. Makes me wish I would have gone with the Stealth on the floor with .1 of an hour on it, rather than my Deluxe brand new out of the crate. I'll just cross my fingers and hope for the best. I have to say that when I bought my 500, I insisted on one out of the crate, and it hasn't had a single problem in 120 hours. Thats why I wanted the 800 out of the crate. If I can get past the tapping noises on the right side of the bike it will be fine. On my next days off I'm going to stop at the dealer and have them fire up one of their 800s to see if I can hear noise on theirs. If its not there, I'll then bring mine in and have them listen to it so I can get the sound diagnosed. Having read about your cam bearning and counterbalancer problem really makes me sick. I just hope I don't end up in the shop all the time like you did Mud Hog.

Sounds like you are on your way now. To bad on the Deluxe. I have to tell you guys when I got mine, I didn't even let it idle. Drove it right to the trails and let it rip. I rode it hard real hard right from mile 1 to 20. I didn't hold it open or steady just road it hard until 20 miles. Then I figured it was broke in. I changed the oil after the first 50 miles. My quad has not missed a beat and is running perfect. This worked for me. As I stated, I do have the ticking at idle only.

 

Talking about new out of the crate, reminds me when I was talking to this salesman who was sitting on a new 700 EFI. He kept pulling gear shifter through all the gears like it was no big deal. Back and forth I bet 20 times. No, the machine was not running at the time. Maybe, it won't hurt the transmission,but what a way to turn off a potential sale. And I won't even talk about the children i've seen climbing on some of the floor models. Alan
