Default Clutch Question

I heard this and wanted to know if it is true or not. On the ranger 700 & 800 is there a spacer or washer on the clutch that prevents the clutch from closing all the way? If removed are they capable of 80 m.p.h.? If this is true do the 700 sportsmans have this same spacer? The reason I ask is my 700 gets to 45 m.p.h. very fast, and from 45 to 60 m.p.h. is very slow. It made me think mabee this is polaris's atempt at a speed govoner. Thanks for any help.

Default Clutch Question

ive never heard of that and if it had been done or was true then it would have been on this forum a long time ago and most of us would have doen it lol. the princple behind it doesnt make sence as it would take alot more then a wahser to make this go that fast as it would be over reving and the secondary clutch would have to be set at a differnt ship rate as well i would think. but there again just my own opinion.
