Transmission Maybe?

Transmission Maybe?
I got a 99 Xplorer 4X4. Its a 2 stroke, and chain driven live axle. Im noticing a rubbing noise on the ride side, down by the step. It seems to be comming from the U-joint that connects the front drive to the trans. But the noise is about half the or more the rate of rotation. I dont see anything obvious. Any Ideas?
