2004 Trailblazer starting /running troubleshooting
#1
Hey, I picked up a 2004 trailblazer that had been sitting in a garage for awhile. I am pretty sure the starter is dead/dying due to the bad sounds it made. I replaced the battery, new plugs and was trying to pull start it. It gets spark and would not start without starting fluid. I can test it with a capful of gas in the cylinder but need next steps to try. There may be clogging in the float, etc but I am not sure if there is some other electrical issue causing the aquad from staying running.
I checked the fuel line, drained the carb bowl and checked for kinked lines, etc. I was also aware that the 2004-5 had a trottle shut off but I don't that is causing the issue. What should I do next??
Any advise would be great. I have looked and bid on backup wiring/electrical parts off eBay as a backup to start testing some of the ignition, etc.

if its been sitting that long then the carb needs to come off and be completely gone thru. if it fired up on either or gas in the spark plug then chances are its fine and needs a good carb cleaning and make sure theres no blocked lines as well as air box or exhaust from little critters.

OK. Thanks. I will do that. That is my Sunday project. Hopefully that will be it since I hate to deal with some of the ignition issues, compression, etc.
